ONCE THERE WAS AN EMPTY SPACE. THEN THERE WAS PERFORMER.
There are empty spaces everywhere and the performers job is to fill it with a story.
Even on a metaphysical tip, an empty space has a story – it’s full of nothing or full of the anticipation of being filled. Ever felt that feeling before?
The mission to master the craft of performance lies at the feet of a dedicated few because the story demands attention and the life of a performer is as traumatic as it is triumphant. And as they say, ” The truth will out” in whatever way, shape or form it finds.
So all that is real, unreal, fictional, imagined, mythical and factual needs a voice. The voice can be discovered or it can discover you. You’ve just got to be patient and ready for the graft. The ride is awesome though.
This blog is about your role as performer – to be a clear page to be written on, an empty plate to be filled with the food of life, a fresh tube train to be art graffitied on, a blank CD to be lasered permanently upon with the emotions of song and lyrical mastery.
As the performer, you have no opinion. There is no room for ego. Only the secrets, lies, fears, joys, defeats and triumphs of those in the story are allowed to fill you. That is your job.
